Zaid's Compound is an unmarked location in Horizon Zero Dawn located due east of Rockwreath, across the river.
History[]
Zaid was a member of the Carja Guard responsible for devious killings during the Red Raids. Under Sun-King Avad, Zaid was no longer outwardly cruel, but secretly continued to traffic humans. He chose to use an abandoned military compound to hold prisoners to wait for slave auctions, staffing it with his crew of rogue guards and outlander thugs.
The Nora huntress Nakoa was captured by Zaid's men and brought to the compound after her failed attempt on Zaid's life. At the request of Nakoa's brother Yan, the Nora Seeker Aloy tracked Nakoa to the compound, fighting through the men guarding it to rescue the captives, Nakoa included. Before they could escape, Zaid arrived with a group of his men. Despite their numbers, they were quickly dispatched by the Nora women, and Zaid was killed by Nakoa.
Reports of the incident soon reached the Carja military, prompting Captain Balahn to launch a full investigation into Zaid's actions.
