Wekatta is a minor character in Horizon Forbidden West.
History[]
Background[]
Wekatta chose to wear a woman's armor. Other people called them crazy for doing so, which caused Wekatta to have a strong dislike for that word, even when used in other contexts.[2]
Horizon Forbidden West[]
While awaiting candidates Penttoh, Rokko and Zikka to return from attempting the March of the Ten, Wekatta and their squad waited at the base of the mountain. Wekatta tried to stop Penttoh from climbing the mountain alone, but ultimately let him go as there are technically no rules against doing so alone.[2] When Aloy came, asking about Penttoh, Wekatta and the squad voiced their doubts in him, with Wekatta tending to Zikka when she returned alone.[1]
After Rokko and Aloy returned, Penttoh shortly followed with the Blood Crest, presenting it to Wekatta, which they accepted and gave their blessing for Penttoh to join their ranks.[1]

Trivia[]
- Wekatta's gender is never confirmed.
- Wekatta chose to wear a woman's armor, leading to people thinking that Wekatta was crazy.[2] This is unlikely to be in regards to a prejudice against women as the Tenakth have no evidence of gender discrimination, implying that Wekatta is either a trans woman or a non-binary person that was assigned male at birth.
- Notably, Wekatta is voiced by Rebecca Root, who she herself is a trans woman.
- Wekatta is never referred to with any pronouns, making it difficult to determine a gender.
