Vertical Takeoff or Landing (VTOL) vehicles, also known as Verts, were a form of aerial transport used in the late 21st century. They typically traveled between facilities known as vertiports, but could also be hailed on demand.[1][2] Traveling by vert was a rare occurrence for most, as by 2063 holotourism had essentially replaced physical travel.[3] Verts also saw use by the military; soldiers fighting in Operation: Enduring Victory were deployed via verts, departing from dedicated verticarrier bays.[4]
