OUR NARRATIVE TEAM[]
Our narrative team oversees storytelling in Guerrilla games and other media. In addition to working on the narratives for the Horizon games, our team also helps develop content for transmedia like comics, art books, and other products. To achieve the highest possible standard, we collaborate closely with designers, artists, animators, actors and technicians throughout the studio and beyond.
WHAT YOU WILL DO[]
As Guerrilla’s first Lore Historian/Archivist, you will:
- Help Guerrilla build a clean and accessible internal database (wiki format) of all previous Horizon storytelling – both from our games and from other media.
- Organize and audit this database to keep it relevant over time.
- Collect and organize art and visual depictions of our characters, enemies, and locations for internal reference.
- Answer questions from various game teams and external parties about Horizon’s lore. Provide clear, organized references about requested narrative topics.
- Develop presentations on Horizon’s lore to help familiarize new hires and external parties with our storytelling.
- Support narrative, design, and art teams in the development of new stories in the Horizon universe.
- Review transmedia content for narrative accuracy and cohesion.
WHO YOU ARE[]
This is a brand-new position within Guerrilla. We are looking for a candidate that can demonstrate:
- Clear and concise English written communication skills (technical writing, marketing copy, journalism, etc).
- Strong familiarity with using wiki-style software (Confluence, MediaWiki, etc.). Prior experience organizing a large knowledge base is a huge plus!
- Competency with word processing (Microsoft Office, Google Docs) and basic photo editing software (Photoshop or similar).
- Previous experience with summarizing narrative content: Writing blogs, articles, or video essay scripts, contributing to a fan wiki, etc. We are seeking at least three (3) wiki-style writing samples that summarize specific moments or characters in an IP’s narrative content, written so a newcomer can understand their purpose in the overall story. (250-500 words each)
- A deep understanding of at least one big franchise’s narrative (if it happens to be Horizon, great!).

When selecting or composing your writing samples, be sure to choose samples that a complete newcomer can understand, even if they’ve never watched or played the IP before. We’re seeking a candidate that can help us educate people – anything that shows that will be a plus.
