The skilled Carja patrol Kamavad made his way through the wet, dense, and vast jungles of The Jewel. He had only a few men to aid him. When they approached a cliff, they heard deep, loud footsteps. "Get to the grass," Kamavad ordered. They all ducked into a rather large patch of tall grass. After that, their prey revealed itself. Kamavad leapt at the Sawtooth, but it clawed him from the air. After Kamavad landed, his men jumped at the powerful machine. However, it clawed them to shreds before they could land a blow. Kamavad recovered and ran to Meridian with the Sawtooth on his heels. He weaved his way through a herd of Chargers and lost it. He made it safe to Meridian, but he would not rest until the Sawtooth, deemed Fleshmouth, was defeated.
Kamavad set out on his own to hunt Fleshmouth the next day, with armor reinforced by Thunderjaw metal. He searched the Jewel to no avail. But then, he came across a path of destroyed trees of which he followed. Then, the path ended and the sight horrified Kamavad. Fleshmouth stood in the center with blood coating it's mouth and claws, with ugly chunks of flesh being wedged between them. He pulled out his Sharpshot Bow and fired three Precision Arrows at the Sawtooth. "That got his attention," Kamavad said to himself. Fleshmouth's eyes flashed red and it began charging at Kamavad. He dodged out of the way and sliced with his spear. The Sawtooth clawed at Kamavad who tried to block, but the claw snapped his spear in half. "Dang it," he said as he fled to Meridian. When he reached the gates, the guards tried to quell Fleshmouth only to be ripped to shreds. Kamavad took out his blast sling and fired an Adhesive Bomb at the Sawtooth, slowing it down. "Oh, you don't like that, do you, ugly," he teased. He took out his spike thrower and fired a Shock Spike at Fleshmouth, stunning it. Kamavad then grabbed a spear from a fallen soldier and dug it into the blood-splattered chassis of the beast, killing it. He smiled as it's eyes faded.
Kamavad needed to know where Fleshmouth came from. "I need a Focus, then I need the thing that Corruptors use to control machines," He thought to himself. The next day, he went into a nearby ruin, which had the dead bodies of Old Ones. "Here it is, a Focus," he said as he put it on his temple. "Now to go to the ridge and loot the Corruptors," He said to himself, his voice echoing against the damp walls of the ruin. He went to the ridge outside of Meridian Village and went over to the carcass of a dead Corruptor. He found a component that connected to his Focus. "This is it, finally," he said. Kamavad viewed a message on his Focus he hadn't seen. "SOS, Coordinates: 37.7749° N, 122.4194° W, capture via malware daemon," it read. "Show me those coordinates," he said as he pulled up his map. It was in a far reach of the Isle of Spires, the farthest area in the Forbidden West. "So I have to free whatever sent that, should be easy enough," Kamavad said as he prepared a Charger for the journey west.
