"I just need to see the twilight path and my people will find their home."
Savohar

The Twilight Path is a side quest in Horizon Forbidden West.

Synopsis[]

While sharing a drink with Petra, Aloy learns of a group of Shadow Carja refugees calling themselves "the Order of Twilight", holding out at a camp west of Chainscrape. While peaceful, the destitute refugees are blocking access to an old signal tower where a Stormbird crashed, and Tolland Cleanbroker, an associate of Ulvund, is threatening to remove them by force for the salvage.

Aloy arrives at the camp and, after helping the refugees kill off attacking machines, speaks to the de facto leader Lokasha. Lokasha explains that the Order's actual leader, a former Sun-Priest named Savohar, is meditating at the base of the tower, and they cannot leave until he receives a vision of their new home. After some prodding, Lokasha admits the group is in no position to stay, and she is concerned that Savohar is taking longer than normal. She agrees to let Aloy through to check on Savohar.

It soon becomes apparent that Savohar hurt himself along the crumbling climb, with a trail of blood leading to the base of the tower. It is here that Aloy finds Savohar, who by this point is weak and borderline delirious, barely able to do more than gasp out a prayer. Unable to reason with Savohar, Aloy goes to the tower and retrieve the Stormbird's Heart, knowing that it will help the refugees purchase resources they desperately need. She returns to Savohar, but finds that he has died while she was away.

Meanwhile, Tolland has arrived with a group of his men. Seconds before Tolland fights his way through the refugees, Aloy arrives and intervenes, convincing Tolland to leave peacefully. She gives the heart to Lokasha and informs her of Savohar's death. While shaken by the news, Lokasha agrees to meet with Petra in Chainscrape for assistance, and leaves Aloy with a token of her gratitude.
