The Second Verse is a side quest in Horizon Forbidden West.
Synopsis[]
At the base, Zo asks a favor of Aloy regarding the Land-gods. GAIA has identified a way of providing them with a reboot code that they can use to adjust the Land-Gods programming: however, they'll need to mimic HEPHAESTUS's input in order for the code to be accepted. To do so, Zo needs control cores from Grimhorns. Aloy agrees to meet Zo near the Grimhorn sight GAIA located. After meeting there, the two dispatch two Grimhorns and the other nearby machines, retrieving their control cores.
After some time, GAIA and Zo are able to finalize the reboot code. With the reboot code finalized, Zo and Aloy journey to Plainsong and the area around it, respectively, to install them into the Land-gods. After clearing out machines around two of them and removing Metal Flowers around another, Aloy installs the reboot code on the missing Land-gods and heads back to Plainsong to meet up with Zo, who is about to install the reboot code on the final Land-god.

Trivia[]
- After completing this mission, Plainsong will be fully healed of the Red Blight when Aloy returns to the fields.
- Aloy can visit the shrine locations, remove the rubble from So, and deal with the metal flowers surrounding Do, before receiving this quest (the shrine locations are marked as ? once within range or after overriding the applicable Tallneck), but Aloy cannot revive them prematurely.
- As Aloy speaks to Zo and uploads and engages the reboot code, the Land-Gods begin to 'sing', and many people in Plainsong will sing with them.
