The Arena is an unmarked location in Horizon Forbidden West. It is directly adjacent to the Memorial Grove, connected to the Maw of the Arena.

In the Old World[]
The Hot Zone crisis ended with the Battle of the Mojave on August 20, 2037: in the assault on JTF-10's base, a fission explosion, possibly caused by a ruptured power core, claimed roughly a thousand lives, including that of nine hundred refugees and JTF-10.[1] A smoldering crater was left from the explosion, although the effects of its blast reached as far as Las Vegas, over two hundred miles away.[citation needed]
The crater was cleaned of radiation, allowing for the Mojave Battlefield Memorial Museum to be constructed directly adjacent to it.
In the New World[]
After Chief Hekarro united the Tenakth under his banner, he set up an arena around the crater. The Arena served as proving ground for the Kulrut, where warriors from all three clans to fight for the title of Marshal, as well as being used for other battles.
Horizon Forbidden West[]
Following Regalla's attack at the embassy that severely depleted the ranks of the Marshals, Hekarro hosted another Kulrut to refill their ranks, despite knowing that Regalla would likely attack the event and try to kill him. While the Kulrut was in session, Aloy aided Dekka in defending the main gate. After destroying several overridden machines, a Rockbreaker tunneled past the defenses and into the heart of the Arena itself, allowing Regalla's rebels to swarm out. In the resulting chaos, Regalla pursued Hekarro, while a Slitherfang emerged to occupy the defenders, before it was destroyed by Aloy and Ivvira.[2]
The Arena was attacked again by the full force of Regalla's army. Just as Regalla had Hekarro cornered at the podium, one of her soldiers ran up to inform her that her machines were all disabled. Aloy soon flew in on a Sunwing and challenged her to a one-on-one duel, which worked its way down from the podium to the Arena floor itself, which ended with Aloy emerging victorious and the end of Regalla's rebellion.[3]
