- "Serving as both border outpost and hunting station, [Stone Crest] provides an unobstructed view of the surrounding area and precise control over its entry points."
- ―Fashav
Stone Crest is a Sky Tenakth settlement located at the northeastern edge of the Sky Clan's territory.
Stone Crest makes an appearance in Horizon Forbidden West and The Official Horizon Cookbook: Tastes of the Seven Tribes.
Description[]
A road sign for Stone Crest.
Stone Crest is one of the larger Sky Tenakth settlements, atop a high mountain with a clear view of the valley known as the Bonewhite Tear below.
Accessing Stone Crest from the east requires one to balance on a wooden beam in order to cross the cavernous break in the mountain path.
History[]
Stone Crest was built as an outpost during the Clan Wars to guard the entrance into Bonewhite Tear and to keep watch on activities below.[1] It currently acts as a border outpost station and hunting station.[2]
A datapoint Fashav left in Stone Crest.
At some point, Stone Crest was among Fashav's earlier stops during his duties as a Marshal, noting his early thoughts on the Sky Clan territory and his interest in learning about Commander Tekotteh and the rest of the Sky Clan's perspective on current problems.[2]
Horizon Forbidden West[]
Kotallo and Aloy met at Stone Crest to discuss their plans to convince Tekotteh to send the Sky Clan's soldiers to the Kulrut.[3]
The Official Horizon Cookbook: Tastes of the Seven Tribes[]
While making their way from Salt Bite to the Memorial Grove, Milduf and Pentalla found the Runner's Wild impassable due to an envoy of Bristlebacks, Behemoths and Leaplashers, forcing them to take a diversion through Stone Crest. While Pentalla was able to cross the wooden beam into Stone Crest without issue, Milduf found himself stuck halfway across due to fear, forcing everyone to tie a rope around him to pull him across.[4]
The local cook refused to serve Milduf and Pentalla due to their tribal/clan origins. Pentalla revealed a white snowbird, claiming that Milduf hunted it. Sighing in defeat, the cook started preparing a Stuffed Snowbird for them, telling Milduf how rare this dish is and that he'd probably be the second foreigner to ever taste it. As they ate the meal, the cook shared some Sky Tenakth recipes with Milduf.[5]
