- "A modified version of a powerful Zenith weapon. It can place designators on targets, turning its shard barrage into a homing attack. Requires a special component to upgrade."
- ―Inventory description
The Specter Gauntlet is a legendary weapon in Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores.
Acquisition details[]
This weapon is acquired after defeating Zeth during The Stars in Their Eyes. In order to use the Railgun, the Railgun Component must be looted from Pirik during In His Wake. It can then be upgraded at any workbench.
Description[]
The Specter Gauntlet's default firing mode fires a spread of shards that deal explosive and tear damage in a small area of effect. It can fire up to 10 shots in quick succession before it overheats and must cool down, though pacing the shots allows the user to fire more before overheating.
The Railgun mode has the gauntlet charge up for approximately two seconds for a single shot and has a laser designator for when it is ready to fire. The shot itself deals impact and tear damage along with a piercing effect, allowing it to penetrate multiple enemies.
The only weapon technique the Specter Gauntlet has is the designator. This technique fires a special projectile that marks enemies for a short time, allowing the Shard Barrage attack home onto them. For both firing modes, this increases the damage inflicted when they hit the designator.
Critical hits deal 100% more damage.

Trivia[]
- If Aloy is in the middle of a jump or falling, the charge up time for the Railgun is faster than it would be normally.
- Prior to Patch 1.24, designators hit by the Railgun mode produced sparks that fall from the point of impact, potentially dealing more damage. It is unknown whether this removal was intentional or not.
