Sirius is the star system that Far Zenith traveled to aboard the Odyssey to escape the Faro Plague. It contains at least one habitable planet, where the Zeniths established a colony after their arrival.
Holograms of the Sirius colony made minor appearances in Horizon Forbidden West.
History[]

Hologram of the Odyssey arriving at Sirius.
Almost three hundred years[1] after the launch of the Odyssey in mid-2065, Far Zenith aboard the Odyssey arrived in the Sirius system, where they successfully established a colony, indulging themselves in virtual reality.[2] Those among the colonists include Gerard Bieri, Tilda van der Meer, Erik Visser, Verbena Sutter, Walter Londra, Stanley Chen, Anika Moorjani, Devin Miller, Song Jiao,[2] at least six others, as well as Londra's personal assistant AI, Nova.[3]
After a few hundred years, some of the Zeniths were not satisfied with physical immortality, wanting digital transcendence, a way to upload their minds into any form, organic or mechanical, prompting them to reawaken one of the original goals of Far Zenith. Nemesis was a failed experiment and byproduct of that pursuit, being a collection of digital copies of the minds of at least some of the Zeniths, including Londra. The experiment was ultimately deemed a failure, with Nemesis being locked away, but not erased.[4]
After decades of isolation, Nemesis gained sentience, grew to despise its creators for its imprisonment, and sought to destroy them by any means. When Nemesis finally escaped on January 13, 3012, it was able to utilize the Zeniths memories of security protocols, system specs and override codes to destroy the colony[4] in a matter of hours,[5] killing some Zeniths with hacked Specter drones, venting air locks, and suffocating some with their own personal shields, with Devin Miller[6] and Stanley Chen among those killed.[2] With no other choice, the remaining Zeniths, including Gerard, Tilda, Erik, Verbena, Londra, and nine other unidentified Zeniths,[7] escaped to the Odyssey and left Sirius. Knowing they would be heading to Earth, Nemesis started broadcasting the Extinction Signal to GAIA Prime, intending to activate HADES, have it destroy the biosphere to deny the Zeniths a safe place on Earth, as well as giving it schematics to bypass their shields.
Seventeen years later,[8] Nemesis became aware of HADES's failure, prompting it to leave Sirius to travel to Earth to finish the job itself.[4]

Trivia[]
- In real life, no planets have yet been confirmed to be in orbit around Sirius. Beta mentions Sirius A,[9] which is one of the two suns in the Sirius system, and Ron Felder mentions Sirius X,[10] but nothing in the Sirius system is named this in real life. Sirius X may be name of this planet in question.
