- "Why does this feel too easy?"
- ―Aloy
Shining Example is an errand quest in Horizon Forbidden West.
Synopsis[]
While walking through Arrowhand, Aloy is called by a Desert Tenakth named Marallo. He explains how her timely arrival saved his life and the life of his partner Sosekk during the final battle against Regalla's Rebels in the Memorial Grove. As a form of gratitude, he directs her towards an untouched deposit of Greenshine, a highly valuable resource, in the mountains at the edge of the Stillsands. He does however warn her that the mountain is guarded by machines.
Aloy then flies to the mountaintop to collect the Greenshine. If she chooses to, she can gather an EMP energy cell from the chassis of a derelict Metal Devil to drop it on the machines and gain a head start in the fight. After dispatching all the machines, Aloy attempts to destroy the Metal Flower blocking access to the Greenshine. In her own words, the task feels suspiciously easy. True enough, before she can finish dissolving the vines, a Dreadwing arrives and attacks her. Once she defeats the machine, Aloy's way to the Greenshine is clear.

Trivia[]
- As this quest is tied to the events of Wings of the Ten, it does not unlock until that quest has been completed. This differs from most other Sunwing override-dependant quests that can be completed earlier in the New Game+ mode, owing to Aloy already having the override.
