Ruwas is a mentioned-only character in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds.
History[]
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds[]
Ruwas was a Carja hunter and soldier[1] who came to the Cut. Sometime prior to Aloy becoming the chieftain of Aratak's werak, Ruwas got into a fight with an inebriated Inatut after challenging the honor of the Banuk. At some point during their fight, Inatut passed out[2] and Anutai, Naunuk and Rukul killed Ruwas by hitting him in the head with a tree branch from up in the trees[1] as revenge for the Red Raids.[3] Before retreating, the killers stole Ruwas's headdress as a trophy.[3]
Port-Mortem[]
Inatut was blamed for Ruwas' death, to which Kopilai and Aujak sentenced him to survive alone on the Cloud-Shear without clothing or equipment. Inatut protested that he did not kill Ruwas, but this was ignored by his chieftain and shaman.[3] Meanwhile, Furahni was frustrated that Inatut wasn't handed over to them for a "proper trial",[4] one where his mouth would be filled with salt and he would be held up for the Sun to consider over days.[5]
Watching Inatut be told to wait for his exile, Aloy heard him out and went to investigate, discovering the true culprits and taking Ruwas' headdress as well as some Carja clothes and weapons they kept. After saving Inatut, Aloy presented the headdress to Kopilai and Aujak and told them where they can find more proof, proving Inatut's innocence.[3]
Trivia[]
- When scanned, Ruwas' headdress is described as "Lacquered metal, dyed plumage. Etched in Carja glyphs: 'A SOLDIER SERVES THE SUN.'", with Furahni also noting that the headdress is valuable.[3]
