The Red Fox, also known as an Eastern Beast,[1] is a species of wildlife in Horizon Forbidden West. A different fox, known simply as the fox, appears in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Red foxes, as well as standard foxes, seen in the Horizon series appear to be red foxes, a widespread species found across most of the entire Northern Hemisphere.
History[]
In the Old World[]
Red fox zygotes were among the animals that were successfully collected before the Faro Plague eradicated the species and stored within ARTEMIS for later use in Project Zero Dawn.
In the New World[]
Red foxes were released alongside other pioneer organisms by GAIA during early terraforming of Earth,[2] becoming commonplace in No Man's Land in the Forbidden West.

Red foxes were one of the most heavily affected animals by the Red Blight, with much of the plant in No Man's Land having multiple dead red foxes in it.
Behavior[]
Red foxes are timid and quick to run away upon detecting Aloy, never turning aggressive.
