The Plasma Spine Launcher is a heavy weapon in Horizon Forbidden West that deals Plasma and Explosive damage.
How to obtain[]
Plasma Spine Launchers can be shot off of the back of a Slaughterspine with tear damage. Removing all of them disables the machine's plasma spine attacks.
Usage[]
The Plasma Spine Launcher fires single small plasma projectiles. Unlike when they are attached to the machine, the projectiles do not stick into the ground, instead creating a small explosion when contacting a surface or enemy.
It can only fire three shots before running out of ammunition.
Advantages[]
- Very high Explosive damage and Plasma build up.
- Multiple Launchers are available from one Slaughterspine.
Disadvantages[]
- Lowest ammo capacity of any heavy weapon.
- Plasma projectiles travel slower than most projectiles.
- Can deal small amounts of self damage and knockback if shot too close.
- Like all heavy weapons, it slows Aloy down when she wields it.
- The Machine it comes from, the Slaughterspine, is resistant toward Plasma, rendering the weapon nigh-useless against it when building up the Plasma state.
