- "Seek out the vibrant ones. A spring of sudden color among snow, or rock, or metal - that's its own reward."
Pigments are a type of collectable found across the world of Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds. They are unique sources of color located through the Cut and highly sought after by the Banuk rock painter Sekuli. Map - Pigments can be purchased from Bluegleam Merchants and shows the approximate locations of all Pigments.
There are a total of nine pigments to be discovered. They are divided into three sets, each containing three shades of a particular pigment type. Once Aloy has collected a complete set of three it can be traded with Sekuli in Song's Edge for a reward.
Collecting all nine pigments will earn the player a Playstation trophy.
Set 1: Salt
All of the salt pigments are located in the vicinity of the geyser pools west of the Stone Yield Bandit Camp.
This pigment is found at the caldera north of Song's Edge
This pigment is found inside the Stone Yield Bandit Camp. It is nestled among the natural grey stone stairs that divide the upper and lower portions of the camp.
Set 2: Crystal
All of the crystal pigments are found in elevated positions, typically high up on snowy cliffsides.
This pigment is found at the highest peak of the Frostfigures, north from the location of the Light Crystal pigment.
Set 3: Oxide
All of the oxide pigments are located near water sources.
This pigment is found along the Shaman's Path in the grotto accessed after kicking down the wooden rope ladder.
- If Aloy has already collected all of the pigments when she speaks to Sekuli about them, Sekuli will be pleasantly surprised and ask "Do you always travel with your pockets full of paint-stuffs?"
- Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds Collector's Edition Guide says this is "Inside a geyser a short distance southwest of the central of the three caldera west of Stone Yield", p.186
