Nozar Arin Khuvaman is a minor character in Horizon Forbidden West.

History[]

Nozar became commander of Barren Light at some point after the Liberation.

In preparation for the upcoming Embassy, Nozar ordered the gates of Barren Light sealed until the Embassy was complete.[1]

By the time Aloy arrived at Barren Light to attend the Embassy, only two of the three Tenakth clans had raised their banners. Sticking firmly to protocol, Nozar refused to start the Embassy. To his outrage, Aloy ignored his demands and ordered the guards to let her through anyway. When Aloy refused to back down, Nozar ordered her arrest; however, when berated and asked by Erend as to what Sun-King Avad would say about him keeping the gate closed to the Savior of Meridian, he relented.[2]

Shortly after, when the Tenakth sounded their readiness, Nozar, along with the Carja delegation, left the fort to begin the Embassy. Soon after, the Embassy was ambushed by Regalla's Rebels, and Nozar urged Fashav to accompany the Carja delegation as they retreated back to the fort. However, they were overrun and surrounded by mounted rebels just before the fort's closed gates. Nozar fought valiantly, but he was felled with an arrow to the abdomen by a rebel archer.[2] His remains were later given to his family.[3]

Personality[]

Nozar was best characterized by his care for protocol, only deviating from it when forced to. He was also slightly bigoted, making condescending remarks towards both the Tenakth and Nora. He called the Tenakth "barbarians" and considered them impossible to make peace with, but recognized his duty to the Sun-King was more important than his personal opinions on the matter.[4]

However, all information indicates that Nozar was an effective commander and leader.
