- "And so the mystery of the Ornament deepened - for what purpose were these trinkets designed?"
- ―Stemmur
Nights of Lights is an errand in Horizon Forbidden West.
Synopsis[]
Returning to check-in with the delving crew at the newly named Hidden Ember, Aloy is beckoned by Stemmur to listen to his delving dilemma. During their last descent into Dunehollow, he had discovered an Old World gizmo. Secured behind a code-locked door however, Stemmur was forced to leave it behind. Knowing of Aloy’s aptitude in traversing the ruins, he asks that she retrieve the gizmo for him.
Travelling to the ruined building marked by a marine statue, Aloy locates the gizmo, which is revealed to be an ornament. Navigating a series of small fenced off rooms, Aloy pieces the six-digit code together from datapoints scattered throughout the rooms. From these datapoints, it is revealed that the gizmo is part of a set of ornaments designed to display light projections representing different cultural holidays. After entering the code and retrieving the gizmo, Aloy returns to the surface to hand it to Stemmur.
Combining the gizmo with another artifact he had previously retrieved, Stemmur is able to project the ornaments’ lights across the Las Vegas ruins. Stemmur then invites Aloy to retrieve the remaining ornaments in the set and change the light display as she pleases.

Text Datapoints - Side Quests[]
- #21 “Malfunction"
- #22 RSVP Requested
Notes[]
- Completing this quest technically begins the Relics from Ruins collection quest, though Aloy likely has collected a number of relics by this time. Each relic returned to Stemmur unlocks a new holiday themed design option for the lights of Las Vegas in addition to those already activated at the end of The Sea of Sands.
- Due to the collection part of the mission being co-located in Dunehollow near the item requested by Morlund in Lofty Ambitions, it's possible to complete the "search and recover" aspect of both missions during the same visit to the cavern.
- Stemmur will offer a different comment for each of the holiday-themed displays Aloy chooses to activate.
- The game automatically changes the lights display to match real-world holidays, i.e. on Easter the Easter theme will replace any that may already be in place.
