Mounted Defense is a learnable Machine Master skill in Horizon Forbidden West.

Use

Unlocking this skill reduces the damage from all sources while Aloy is mounted on an overriden machine. This skill will stack with her current outfit resistances and some skills such as Low Health Defense, potentially making her very difficult to kill. However, this does not prevent her from being knocked off her mount or reduce damage dealt to it.

Boosts

This skill is boosted by wearing the Tenakth Dragoon and Tenakth Tactician outfits. Upgrading the Tenakth High Marshal to level 3 provides a +2 weave that can be slotted into any outfit.

A +1 weave can be purchased from Scalding Spear's Stitcher for 75 Metal Shards.

Consuming Mountain Trail Bread boosts the skill by 3 levels.
