Machine Strike, commonly shortened to Strike, is a board game in Horizon Forbidden West. It can first be learned from Salma in Chainscrape who acts as a tutorial-giver for the game.

History[]

Strike was invented by the Tenakth tribe.

Mechanics[]

Each player has a set of pieces that represent machines. Each piece has a number of setup points equal to its victory points, which is the number of points gained when that machine is defeated. A set can only consist of pieces whose setup points add up to ten.

Machine Stats[]

Each piece has stats that determine how it interacts with the board and other pieces.

Attack Power[]

This stat determines how much damage is dealt when a machine attacks.

Armor[]

Machines can have armor around their pieces. Hitting armor, marked by blue, will result in decreased damage and potentially self-damage. Hitting weak points, marked by red, results in increased damage.

Victory Points[]

This determines how much points a player gets when an enemy piece dies. 7 victory points are needed to win a game, or all enemy pieces being moved off the board.

Movement[]

This determines how far a piece can move across the board.

Attack Range[]

This determines how far away an enemy piece can be for a piece to attack it.

Terrain[]

A Strike game board is comprised of tiles that have slots to place pieces in them. Each tile represents a type of terrain that has an effect on the piece standing on it. Typically this is just boosting attack power. This allows for machines on a higher tile to boast some sort of defense when being attacked. Tiles are stacked showing different layers, so that each layer is one type of terrain. Below is a list showing tiles in order stacked from bottom to top.
