The Machine Scavenger Box is a type of Treasure Box that can be looted from destroyed machines.
In order for the Machine Scavenger Box to drop, the player must first unlock the Scavenger skill from the Forager skill line. This gives Aloy a 10% chance to loot one of these boxes from every machine she kills.
Further down the skill line, the Scavenger+ skill can be unlocked which increases the drop rate to 20%.

The contents of this box will depend on the type of machine it is looted from. The following table provides a general overview of drop chances by resource, but a box will never include a resource that would not otherwise have dropped from the machine the box is looted from.
