Machine Cores are a rare resource collected from various machines in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. They appear in small, medium, and large sizes, and can be sold for Metal Shards.
Medium and large Machine Cores can also be obtained from the Hunter Big Game Box.
In Horizon Forbidden West, Small Machine Cores are an uncommon resource.

In Horizon Zero Dawn, Machine Cores can only be traded for Shards with merchants. In Horizon Forbidden West, they are now a crafting ingredient for outfits and weapons.
