Lena

Lena^[1] was one of children born within ELEUTHIA-9. A hologram of her can be seen in Horizon Zero Dawn.

History[]

Lena, along with at least one other girl and two boys, were born within ELEUTHIA-9 as part of Project Zero Dawn's effort to reintroduce humanity to the world once it was habitable again.

The children's early life went as planned, they received proper care and a nursery-level education.^[2] However, problems began to arise as a result of Ted Faro purging the APOLLO database centuries before, as the kindergarten stage experienced multiple system failures.^[3] The next stage, releasing the children into the Lyceum to live in a more age-appropriate space and partake in APOLLO, never occurred, and the door to the Lyceum never opened, trapping the children in the area intended for very young children. As the children grew older, additional problems began to arise, with the children becoming increasingly frustrated with the multiservitors for their situation,^[4] constantly being told to wait for things that never seemed to come,^[5]^[1] and refused access into the Lyceum with no explanation as to why not.^[1]

At some point, Lena and another adolescent confronted the Father multiservitor, demanding to be allowed to enter Lyceum. After being denied, they attacked the multiservitor, but were stopped by the Sentinels. When the multiservitor switched to the Healer persona and attempted to tend to Lena's bruise, she angrily told it to go away.^[1]

On March 16th, 2326,^[6] Lena and the rest of the inhabitants of ELEUTHIA-9 were released into the wilds as the food supply in the cradle was exhausted.^[7]

Legacy[]

While it's unknown what happened to Lena specifically, those released from ELEUTHIA-9 were able to survive and thrive, becoming the ancestors of the Nora, Carja, Oseram, Banuk, Utaru and Tenakth tribes.^[8]
