The Lake Shrine is an unmarked shine of Carja design in Horizon Zero Dawn located east of Meridian, at the edge of the Jewel.

History[]

The Lake Shrine was erected in an attempt to ward off the Snapmaws who gather around the small pool in this clearing, with its effectiveness leaving much to be desired.[1]

Horizon Zero Dawn[]

Under the request of Mournful Namman, Aloy destroyed the Snapmaws around the Lake Shrine to allow safe passage for the Utaru pilgrim Rea, so she can pay her respects to her comrade who fell during their escape in the Liberation.[2]

After the Snapmaws were destroyed, no machines return to replace them, allowing Carja and Utaru to attend the Lake Shrine safely.[3]
