"I am the metal weaver of Riverhymn. But all you really need to know about me is that I plan to keep my people alive."
―Kue

Kue is a character in Horizon Forbidden West.

History[]

A seasoned warrior, Kue joined the Tenakth forces against the Carja during the Buried Years after losing his daughter to the raiders. During this time, he became well versed in Tenakth war tactics and metalworking; believing he is the only Utaru able to work metal. After the raids ended, he planted his daughter's seeds in the grove at the heart of Riverhymn.[1]

When Riverhymn came under attack by Regalla's Rebels, Kue headed the defense and crafted new weapons for the young and inexperienced warriors of the village. He sent Aloy up the Drumroot to collect some Metal Fertilizer Pods ejected by Widemaws. After she returned and they fought off another attack by the rebels, Kue rewarded her work with his sharpshot bow.[2]

At some point, Kue is visited by Jaxx and Korreh for parts for Korreh's instrument.[3]

Personality[]

Kue is stern and shrewd, hardened by loss and hardship. While unrelenting to the youth he leads, this comes from a recognition of his age and the need to pass on the responsibility to them.[1]

Like many of the inhabitants of Riverhymn, he is fiercely protective of his home, the place where his daughter's seeds were buried. For Kue, the sight of Wintersong, the delicate flower grown from his daughter's seeds, is a source of relief and closure.[1]

  • Kue is likely the creator of the The Tie That Binds.[5]
  • When Aloy asked if he knows Zo, Kue responds that he knows "the Zo" he followed during their battles against the Carja, but not "the Zo" who returned.
