Kristia is a character in Horizon Forbidden West.

History[]

Kristia was one of three known Navigators assigned to the Eastern Expedition to San Francisco. Her wife Meandra, a farmhand in the Great Delta, was opposed to her leaving out of fear for her safety: it is implied that Kristia's decision to do so led to an argument, as Kristia left without saying goodbye. For her duties, Kristia was taught by the Diviners to use a gyrocompass repurposed from salvaged ancient vessels. Due to standard Quen practice, Kristia was not allowed to memorize the navigational charts: that task went to her fellow Navigator Harriem alone, meaning that one could not perform their duties without the other.

On the night the fleet reached the ruins of San Francisco, Kristia's ship was grounded by harsh winds, forcing the crew to abandon ship. While Kristia and Harriem managed to wash ashore on a beach southwest of Legacy's Landfall, the gyrocompass remained trapped on their vessel, surrounded by dangerous currents. Kristia fell into despair, surrendering to the notion that she would never return home.

Upon learning the situation, Aloy, known to the Quen as the Ancestor reborn, offered her help. Kristia initially refused to let herself hope, but her doubt turned to relief and joy when Aloy provided both the gyrocompass and equipment necessary to repair it. After hugging Aloy in gratitude, Kristia went to work repairing the gyrocompass.
