Jezza is a minor character in Horizon Zero Dawn.

History[]

Background[]

A member of the Nora tribe, Jezza was a great-grandmother by the time Aloy was eighteen, making her a High Matriarch by tribal law. She often appears to caught in the middle of her fellow High Matriarchs' disagreements.

Horizon Zero Dawn[]

Mothers-Heart-10 — Jezza heading the Blessing alongside Teersa and Lansra.

Jezza, alongside Teersa and Lansra, oversaw the Blessing of the Proving the year that Aloy rejoined the tribe, quietly trying to stop Teersa and Lansra's bickering.^[2]

When Aloy was found unconscious after surviving the Proving, Jezza agreed with Teersa that Aloy should be taken near her mother inside All-Mother Mountain, overruling Lansra's objections.^[3]

Once Aloy woke up and Teersa told her fellow High Matriarchs that All-Mother spoke to Aloy and that she had to be named a Seeker, Jezza sided with Teersa again, telling Aloy that their hopes rode with her.^[1]

After the invasion by the Eclipse was repelled with the help of Aloy, Jezza was amazed and questioned her about it. As Aloy entered the door to All-Mother and returned, Jezza was among those cheering for Aloy as the Anointed of the Nora, which Aloy angrily resisted.^[4]

Personality[]

Jezza appears to be more level-headed and more tolerant than Lansra, although not as open minded as Teersa, showing compassion to Aloy when she is anointed a Seeker.^[1]

Trivia[]

Because Jezza leads the initial part of the Blessing ceremony and readies the tribe in a Hymn, she may be be the spiritual leader of the tribe.
Jezza's headpiece appears to be inspired by a cervix.
