Spikes are a type of Ammo used by humans in Horizon Forbidden West. They are used for the Spike Thrower.
Spike Throwers use different types of Spikes, while others have overlapping ammo types.
Ammunition can be purchased or crafted from harvested components, even in the middle of a battle.
Spike types[]
Advanced Explosive Spike[]
An improved version of the explosive spike with higher impact and explosive damage. Used by certain Spike Throwers, it explodes after a short delay.

Drill Spike[]
A long metal spike used by certain Spike Throwers. Its serrated length allows it to lodge into an enemy and damage it over time, as well as tear off components. Deals high impact and tear damage.

Explosive Spike[]
A long metal spike fitted with explosives. Used by certain Spike Throwers, it explodes after a short delay. Deals medium impact damage and high explosive damage.

Fire Spike[]
A long metal spike fitted with a sac of Blaze. Used by certain Spike Throwers, it explodes and burns enemies after a short delay. Deals high Fire damage and buildup.
