  • Fixed an issue in the tutorials for the Carja Rattler and the Shadow Rattler where machines from The Frozen Wilds would not count towards progression tutorials.
  • Fixed an issue where the functionality of the new UI for Treasure Boxes was unclear to some players.
  • Updated the inventory icons for the Master outfits.
  • Fixed an issue where the Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept outfit would display the incorrect image of the outfit in the Inventory menu.

  • Fixed a design issue in the Nora Silent Hunter Master outfit where the stealth stat could be modified to a value that is higher than intended.
  • Introduced a retroactive fix for the issue where outfits that were obtained prior to Patch 1.40 would lose their base resistances upon loading the save after updating to Patch 1.40 or newer.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Point of the Spear” where some players would have the objective ‘Meet Rost at the North Gate’ appear as failed in the quest log once completed.

THE FROZEN WILDS

  • Fixed an issue where Sekuli, the Specialty Merchant, would only appear on the map if the player was in Song’s Edge.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Shaman’s Path” where some players would experience that Quest Pathfinding would not update when leaving the Icerasps through the right hand side of the exit.
  • Fixed an issue in “For the Werak” where the timer would disappear when they would proceed down the mountain instead of following the mountain traversal route on the third challenge.
  • Fixed an issue in “Out of the Forge” with the behavior of the Fireclaws if a player would stand in certain areas of the encounter.
  • Fixed an interface issue for “Out of the Forge” where players could not activate the quest from the world map, as the Fireclaw sites would overlap the quest marker.
  • Fixed an issue in “Weapons of the Lodge” where the objective log would be reset to ‘1/15 suns earned’ after clearing the Snowchants Hunting Ground in The Frozen Wilds.
  • Increased the frequency of non-daemonic machines spawning after finishing “The Forge of Winter” in The Frozen Wilds.
  • Fixed several issues with the animations of the Fireclaw.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed a progression issue in “Waterlogged” that some players experienced, where Gildun would be missing after exiting and re-entering the Greycatch.
  • Fixed a progression issue in “The Forge of Winter” that some players experienced, where players could be spawned in geometry when dying in the lava at the entrance of the cauldron.
  • Fixed a progression issue in “The Forge of Winter” that some players experienced, where Ourea would be stuck if the player moved quickly through the area before the Recycling Area.

PERFORMANCE/STREAMING FIXES

  • Fixed a streaming issue where some players that installed The Frozen Wilds would have the ground in front of Aloy appearing to ‘bump-up’ as it loads in ahead.
  • Fixed a streaming issue where some players would experience the Metal Devil visibly streaming in when approaching it from Devil’s Grief.
  • Fixed a streaming issue in “Waterlogged” where some players would have streaming issues at the entrance of the dam after running to the Greycatch.

CRASH FIXES

  • Fixed various crash issues.

  • Fixed an issue at the Charger site near Song’s Edge, where there was a chance that Chargers would not spawn at the site when visiting the area.

  • Fixed an issue in the Machine Catalogue in Aloy’s Notebook where the ‘Sources’ lists for loot would not be updated with the new machines from The Frozen Wilds.
  • Added a counter for ‘Dismount Strikes’ in the Combat Statistics in Aloy’s Notebook.
  • Fixed an issue where Ikrie’s Challenge would count towards the percentage of game completion of the base game.
  • Fixed an issue that some players experienced where their Ghost Level experience value was displayed as a negative number after reaching level 60.

  • Fixed an issue with the “First Bluegleam Trade” trophy. This would not unlock if a players bought an Adept version of one of the new outfits from The Frozen Wilds.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue in “The Shaman’s Path” where the Frostclaw would not get stunned after overriding the Control Tower.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Shaman’s Path” where sections of Ourea’s Retreat had extended periods without background music.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Shaman’s Path” where the waypoint finder would lead the player a long way around when falling down the jump under the helipad.
  • Fixed an issue in “For The Werak” where for certain players one of the damaged Frostclaws would swap.
  • Fixed an issue in “Firebreak” that some players experienced where the Frostclaw would jump through the door when taking Aratak’s Path.
  • Fixed an issue in “Firebreak” where the datapoint icons would not show up on the compass until the player used their Focus at least once.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Forge of Winter” where Aloy will be blasted off the floating crates if her idle hanging animation plays when passing over the broken vent.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Forge of Winter” where Aratak and Ourea would not follow you past the bridge of the Recycling Area after the player backtracked within the Cauldron.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Forge of Winter” where Aratak and Ourea would remain stationary after the second Control Tower is destroyed when battling the daemonic Fireclaw.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Forge of Winter” with the animations of the Fireclaw while fighting it near the Cauldron Core.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Forge of Winter” in Ourea’s Retreat, where two icons of CYAN could be seen on the user’s compass.
  • Fixed various issues in “Waterlogged” with the water in Greycatch.
  • Fixed an issue in “Waterlogged” where Aloy would pry open the door with Sylens’ spear, even when the player doesn’t have this spear yet.
  • Fixed an issue in “Waterlogged” with Gildun’s positioning to close the first sluice gate.
  • Fixed an issue in “Ikrie’s Challenge” where the rolling logs would not respawn when attempting the trial again.
  • Fixed an issue in “Weapons for the Lodge” where players would experience the quest log not being updated correctly after clearing one of the trials in the Snowchants Hunting Ground in The Frozen Wilds.

Economy

  • Fixed an issue where players reported that they would not be able to buy every outfit in the game, as there were not enough slots. You can now get all outfits with a fully upgraded Outfits Satchel and the ‘Hoarder’ skill unlocked.
  • Fixed a cosmetic issue in the Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit.
  • Fixed a UI issue where the ‘Master’ Adept versions of outfits would have the same name as the ‘Heavy’ Adept versions in New Game +.
  • Fixed an issue where the Banuk Ice Hunter Heavy would provide more protection than the Adept version of this outfit, while they both have the same resistance stats.
  • Fixed an issue with the Shield-Weaver outfit which would not work correctly if Aloy is damaged by two damage types or explosions.
  • Fixed an issue where the shard value for spear mods would be inconsistent.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed several issues that some people experienced with geometry in The Frozen Wilds. Players could leave the intended play area and get stuck, blocking progression.
  • Fixed an issue in “Firebreak” that some players experienced, where Aloy could get pushed through the Cauldron door when fighting the Daemonic Scorcher.
  • Fixed an issue in “Firebreak” that some players experienced, where killing the Daemonic Scorcher near the Cauldron door could cause the option to open the door to be hidden by the option to search the Scorcher.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Forge of Winter” that some players experienced, where killing the Daemonic Fireclaw near the Cauldron Core could cause the option to override the Cauldron Core to be hidden by the option to search the Fireclaw.
  • Fixed an issue in “Waterlogged” that some players experienced, where in certain situations Aloy could not pull up on the ladder after solving the Flow Puzzle.
  • Fixed an issue in “Waterlogged” that some players experienced, where some ladders could lose their functionality, blocking progression.
  • Fixed an issue in “Waterlogged” that some players experienced, where fast-traveling out of the Greycatch from the top of the counterweight would block progression of this quest.
  • Fixed an issue in “Waterlogged” that some players experienced, where Gildun would disappear after completing the optional puzzle and walking through the unlocked doorway.
  • Fixed an issue in “Frontier Justice” that some players experienced, where if the player fast traveled away after completing the first ‘Follow the tracks’ objective and before completing the second objective, there would be no quest marker.
  • Fixed an issue in “Ikrie’s Challenge” that some players experienced. If the player died on the second attempt after having received Gold the first time, the objective would be missing from the quest objective log.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Claws Beneath” where the game would not auto save when killing the Claws Beneath before accepting the quest through Umnak. 
  • Fixed an issue in the Stone Yield Bandit Camp that some players experienced, where the Bandit Camp leader would already be dead without the player killing it, blocking progression.
  • Fixed an issue with datapoints ‘Induced Coma’ and ‘The Swarm’. These datapoints could not be collected after completing “The Forge of Winter”.

  • Fixed an issue where some players would experience losing the DLC license during their playthrough and receive negative XP.

  • Fixed a progression issue in “The Forge of Winter” where some players experienced that your allies would not follow you after moving quickly through the area before the ‘Recycling Area’.
  • Fixed a progression issue in “The Shaman’s Path” where some players would experience a block by an invisible wall near the Helipad after solving the first power puzzle and saving the game.
  • Fixed a progression issue in “The Shaman’s Path” where some players would experience the objective not being changed after fast-traveling immediately after solving the second power puzzle.
  • Fixed a progression issue where some players would experience losing the DLC entitlement during their playthrough and receiving negative XP.

Patch Summary:

  • Fixed combat balance issues for some players in the quest storyline of ‘The Frozen Wilds’ expansion.
  • Fixed a number of general improvements for ‘The Frozen Wilds’ expansion.

GENERAL FIXES

  • Rebalanced the encounter with the three Frostclaws during the quest ‘For The Werak’ on Story, Easy and Normal difficulty. The damage done by the Frostclaws depends on how many Frostclaws are left during the encounter.
  • Rebalanced the encounter with the Fireclaw during the quest ‘The Forge of Winter’ on Story, Easy and Normal difficulty.

  • Fixed an issue for the controls where some players could let Aloy to become fixed to a plane and be able to move horizontally across the map.
  • Fixed an issue for some players for the interactions of the NPC’s that are not in combat.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed a progression issue in “A Seeker at the Gates” where some players experienced the ‘Carja Fort Gate’ wouldn’t open after fast-traveling.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Lessons of the Wild’ where some players would experience the Watcher staying in an alert state after skipping the quest sequence, which would cause the objective to remain as “Wait for the Watcher to Pass”.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘The Mountain That Fell’ where some players would experience Aloy getting stuck between the gaps near the boulder next to a campfire.

CRASH FIXES

  • Fixed an issue in “To Curse the Darkness” where some players would experience a crash while trying to climb ‘Faro Tech’.

Unfortunately patch 1.33 introduced a crash that would occur for certain players when trying to load a save where the player had an opened treasure box in their inventory containing a modification and other items. We are currently working on a fix for this issue.

NEW FEATURES

  • Implemented an option to allow making a manual save from a previous Game when starting a New Game to avoid losing progress.

GENERAL FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where for some players Tearblast Arrows incorrectly deal extra Tear damage on Ultra Hard.
  • Fixed an issue where some players were able to reroll Special Modification Boxes by saving and reloading.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed an issue in ‘The Womb of the Mountain’ when playing on Story difficulty where some players were able to kill the Corruptor outside of the gate, blocking progression because the player is not able to interact with it to continue the quest.

  • Added ‘Story Mode’ difficulty. An easier difficulty setting for people that mainly want to experience the story of Horizon Zero Dawn.

GENERAL FIXES

  • Fixed an issue for some players where human melee attackers could change their rotation and warp towards the player after jump attacking giving them an unfair advantage.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where some players were not allowed to fast travel to Sunfall campfires with the Shadow Stalwart Adept armour equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where certain players were not able to abandon a job for a job created to buy items at a merchant.
  • Fixed an issue that some players encountered where some animation events would not work properly when the player has a lot of resources.
  • Fixed an issue in “Revenge of the Nora” where for some players the Nora would not help Aloy fight off the enemy during the ‘Clear the Camps’ objective.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed an issue in “The Point of the Spear” where some players were not able to continue the quest if they dropped their Tripcaster on NG+ before talking to Rost.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Sun Shall Fall” where some players were not able to get back in the palace to talk to Blameless Marad as the gates were closed.

CRASH FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where the game would crash for certain players if they switched difficulty while Aloy is dead with an Errand active.
  • Fixed an issue where for some players the game would crash if a player continuously makes ‘Jobs’ and then changes difficulty continuously.

  • Fixed an issue where for certain players hitting an armour plate with a bomb while the machine is frozen would cause more damage than intended.

  • Fixed an issue where for certain players heavy melee damage was the same on different difficulty levels.
  • Fixed an issue in “The Looming Shadow” where for some players two guards would disappear after Blameless Marad speaks to them.

NEW GAME+ AND ULTRA HARD MODE FIXES

  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ “The Point of the Spear” where for some players loading an auto save after speaking to Rost at his home would start from Karst’s location rather than near Rost.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ “A Seeker at the Gates” where for certain players the objective ‘Override a Strider’ would remain on screen when using the Call Mount skill.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game + where certain players were not able to enter or fast travel to Sunfall with the Adept Shadow Stalwart armour equipped.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where some players with the Adept Blast Sling were granted access to the Shock Trial in the Valleymeet Hunting Grounds, despite not having Shock ammo.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where some players with the Adept Blast Sling were granted access to the Freeze Trial in the Valleymeet Hunting Grounds, despite not having Freeze ammo.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where for some players kills with the Adept Tripcaster were not counted towards the Blast Wire Trial in the Nora Hunting Grounds.
  • Fixed an issue in New Game+ where certain players were able to carry over heavy weapons from their normal game to their New Game+ loadout.
  • Fixed an issue when playing on Ultra Hard mode where for some players shard values in player created errands are not updated when switching to a lower difficulty.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed an issue in “Deep Secrets of the Earth” where certain players would become trapped in a room if they solved the Power Puzzle while leaving the enemies guarding it alive. This fix requires a reload in order for it to work.

MISCELLANEOUS FIXES

  • Various crash fixes.
  • Various text fixes.
  • Fixed damage values of heavy melee and elemental.

Version 1.30

Patch Summary:

  • New game+ added for players who want to play through the game with their existing gear.
  • Ultra Hard mode is added for the players that are up for another challenge!
  • Added two new trophies to the game: One for completing New game+ and one for completing New game+ in ultra-hard mode.
  • Added support for all EU and US text Languages on EU and US games.

GENERAL FIXES

  • Fixed an issue for some players in “The Looming Shadow” where two guards would disappear after Blameless Marad speaks to them.
  • Fixed an issue for certain players with the Lodge Ropecaster where the Ropecaster’s anchors that are automatically shot in the ground would not lock into the terrain while shooting from a crouched position.
  • Fixed an issue for some players where bandit camps would incorrectly display as ‘Undiscovered’ within the world map if the player had cleared all bandit camps.
  • Fixed an issue with “Cauldron Zeta” where for some players the quest log would disappear after completing the quest.
  • Fixed an issue that some players encountered with the animations of Aloy. When the player would perform a melee attack and use the Focus almost simultaneously, it would cause Aloy’s upper body to twist unnatural for a moment.
  • Fixed an issue with the humanoid scream and attack indicators.
  • Fixed an issue in “Deep Secrets of the Earth” where for some players the data points in Sobeck’s office were not obtainable if the player wanted to pick them after the explosion caused by Helis, as they had disappeared.
  • Fixed an issue with the Tearblaster statistics being incorrectly displayed in the weapon wheel.

PROGRESSION FIXES

  • Fixed an issue in “Field of the Fallen” where for some players Erend would not appear when the quest objective is ‘Talk to Erend’ and thus blocking progression of this quest.
  • Fixed an issue in “The City of the Sun” where some players might teleport through the protester scene, blocking progression as Erend would not open the door to Olin’s apartment.

MISCELLANEOUS FIXES

  • Minor text fixes.
  • Fixed miscellaneous crashes.

GENERAL FIXES

  • Fixed an issue with the lure call, where some players could lure bandits from the other side of bandit camps, by reducing its range.
  • Fixed an issue where for some players ‘Strike from Above’ would not activate when coming from a zip line.
  • Fixed an issue with ‘Strike from Above’ where for some players Aloy would get stuck until the strike would be completed.
  • The ‘Inactive Quests’ toggle option now also filters the ‘New Quests’ icons from the map screen.
  • Fixed an issue with the interaction markers when set to ‘always off’ in the custom HUD menu. If some players positioned the camera through a bandit’s body the interaction markers would appear visible again.
  • Fixed an issue with the ‘Show HUD on touch’ menu option not resetting to the default value.
  • Fixed an issue where some players would not get a notification when they have leveled up if they had the ‘XP bar’ feature set to ‘always off’ in the custom HUD menu.
  • Fixed an issue where some players could suddenly be thrown from a Tallneck’s head and killed when it makes a very sharp turn during its path.

PHOTO MODE FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where changing poses after throwing a rock would cause conflict between animations where Aloy’s body would begin to bend, twist, and spin rapidly.
  • Fixed an issue with the ‘Look At’ toggle and Body Poses being available during hit reactions that Aloy triggers on herself such as falling and grenade damage.
  • Fixed an issue with Aloy twisting and bending if the player selects the ‘Look At’ toggle shortly after closing the Focus.
  • Fixed an issue where having previous Photo Mode settings active whilst in a new instance of Photo Mode with the Focus open would cause animation issues when pressing the triangle button.
  • Fixed an issue with the ‘Greetings’ option whilst on top of the Spire; it would state the player is located in the Estate.
