Hidden Ember is an Oseram settlement in Horizon Forbidden West. Prior to the completion of The Sea of Sands, this settlement is named The Tower of Tears.
Description[]
In the Old World[]
During the time of the Old Ones, Hidden Ember was known as Las Vegas.
In the New World[]
Roughly twenty years prior to the Derangement, circa year 3001, the area that would become Hidden Ember was discovered by Morlund's grandfather during one of the first Oseram delving expeditions into the Forbidden West, discovering an Ember which he used to put on spectacles back in the Claim, but was unable to visit the ruins again to due the lack of shards.[1]

While escaping GAIA's self-destruction,[2] POSEIDON transferred itself to the computer system within the Dunehollow beneath the ruins.
Horizon Forbidden West[]
Around forty years after Morlund's grandfather's visit, a performing troupe: Morlund, Abadund and Stemmur came to the ruins to find more Embers, while Aloy came to find POSEIDON. After collecting POSEIDON, the inactive holograms were reactivated, lighting up the ruins with the Old World sights of Las Vegas. Instead of taking the Embers back to the Claim, the three Oseram decided to stay and establish Hidden Ember for all to come visit.[3]
Upon returning to the area later, Aloy finds the settlement of Hidden Ember has been established, with most of the amenities of larger settlements, with many Oseram settling here, including Delah and Boomer.[4] The Tower of Tears becomes a hive of activity, with a tavern-like area on an upper floor. The holograms remain visible day and night and extend through most of the former Las Vegas region, with more appearing as Aloy gives more Embers to Stemmur.[5] Once he perfects it,[6] Morlund offers rides in his "Amazing Elevating Orb" to show people the views of Hidden Ember from the sky.
