Loquacious Gendas is a minor character in Horizon Forbidden West.

History

Background

At some point, Gendas was given the position of Champion by a Sun-King.

Hearing of Jagged Deep, a lake filled with ruins from the Old World from returning Carja soldiers from the Red Raids, Gendas decided to mount an expedition to investigate, eager to become the first scholar to discover the secrets of the Forbidden West and become as famous as Well-Traveled Aram.

When Gendas, Rushavid and their Oseram delving crew arrived at Jagged Deep, Gendas saw a glint in the water and waded in, recovering a "tray", believing it to have been used by the Old Ones to serve food. It was then that machines attacked and they escaped the site back to their nearby camp.

Aloy arrived and asked what had happened, using her Focus to discover that the tray was actually a data drive, containing data on the Mobile Cover System. She offered to investigate further, much to Gendas' delight.

When Aloy returned, Gendas was eager to understand as much as he could. Presenting the Mobile Cover System Prototype, she described a massive battle that the Old Ones fought against machines. While some fled, others stayed behind to salvage the Mobile Cover System Prototype to help others carry on the fight, but were ultimately unsuccessful. Despite the sad story, Gendas was happy that it was now in the hands of the most renowned warrior in the Sundom, and was determined that every item they recover will be used to ensure the memory of the Old Ones lives on.

Among the items recovered, Gendas was ecstatic to find an actual tray. As Rushavid told him that no one in Meridian was going to buy it, Gendas announced his intention to dine on the tray himself and began talking about the food he would eat off it, making Rushavid begin to feel hungry.
