At some point before GAIA's death, a Tallneck was monitoring a supercell formation in the Frostfigures, but was rendered unable to function by being stuck by three lightning strikes.[2]
Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds[]
Aratak and Aloy at the base of the Frostfigures, preparing to compete for the chieftaincy of the werak.
While passing through the Frostfigures, Aloy found the fallen Tallneck covered in ice, in the process of being scrapped by Glinthawks and Scrappers. After fighting off the scavengers and putting the removed pieces back into the Tallneck, she was able to reactivate the machine, allowing it to continue monitoring the local area.[3]
The Frostfigures is the site where the competition for the chieftaincy of Aratak's werak is held, with Aloy succeeding in besting Aratak and thus, becoming the new chieftain of the werak.[4]
