Yariki is a minor character in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds. She is one of the quest-givers for Into the Frozen Wilds, found at the campfire north of The Grave-Hoard.
History[]
Yariki lived in the Banuk region known as The Cut. She became an envoy to the Carja Sun-King Avad's court when no other Banuk would accept the position. As part of her duties, she would travel to the Carja capital Meridian to relay the stories and songs of the Banuk to Carja scribes and scholars.
However, there came the emergence of Daemonic machines in The Cut and an enormous, foreboding volcano-like cloud of smoke continuously billowing from Thunder's Drum, which appeared around the same time as these machines did. The Banuk living in the Cut attributed both to a curse, the result of an entity they called the Daemon. Yariki chose to take up residence in Meridian, judging The Cut as having become too dangerously unlivable, even by Banuk standards. She encountered the Nora huntress Aloy at beginning of the climb leading to the pass accessing The Cut, and warned her to stay away.

- Yariki is the only quest-giver for "Into the Frozen Wilds" that cannot be interacted with in any way once the quest has begun: Ohtur can be seen with the three Banuk hunters following completion of The Hunters Three, while Rhavid can be spoken with following The Forge of Winter (provided he is chosen as quest-giver).
