The Far Zenith Launch Facility is an unmarked ruin location in Horizon Forbidden West. It can only be accessed during the main quest Reach For The Stars.

History[]

In the Old World[]

Welcome to Far Zenith Hologram

A hologram of Osvald Dalgaard welcoming visitors to the Far Zenith Launch Facility (as seen in the New World).

The Far Zenith Launch Facility was a site where Far Zenith launched shuttles into space, and was also where new members were recruited.[1]

In the New World[]

Far Zenith Launch Facility warning sign

For the next thousand years, the remains of the Far Zenith Launch Facility were left untouched by the new humans until it was breached by a group of Oseram, who were wiped out by a Slitherfang just six days later.[2]

Reach for the Stars quest

Aloy and Varl learning about Far Zenith's plans for the Odyssey.

Not long later, Aloy came to the ruins to find a backup of GAIA, believing that Elisabet Sobeck may have sent Far Zenith a copy,[3] with Varl catching up shortly before she made her way into the ruins. Together, the two Nora learned the truth behind Far Zenith's intentions in the Old World and that they tried to steal a copy of GAIA and her subordinate functions, only to be sent a logic bomb by Elisabet and Travis Tate. Realising that what they were looking for wasn't there, Aloy and Varl left the ruins.[4]

Trivia[]

  • The location of the Far Zenith Launch Facility is unclear, although it is definitively not in the Sacred Lands, as Varl mentions that he hasn't returned to the Sacred Lands with the rest of the Nora after the Battle of the Alight.[5]
    • As Aloy and Varl arrive to the ruins and leave for Meridian to the southwest, arriving in Meridian from the northeast, the ruins are likely to be northeast of Carja capital.
    • Varl notes that the Far Zenith Launch Facility is a "long walk" away from Meridian.[5]
