As the player character is fully customizable in Horizon Steel Frontiers, it's unclear if Eliza's name and appearance are entirely canon, or are simply those chosen by the player who was playing the game in the trailers. However, for the sake of simplicity, this character is referred to as Eliza on this wiki.
Eliza was told by Thira that some Utaru farmers were found dead at Gusty Ridge, having been killed by a Fireclaw. Eliza then went on to take down the Apex Fireclaw.[1]
When asked about how players will be able to design their characters in Horizon Steel Frontiers, Sunggu Lee described that characters will be able to have realistic designs like the original games to more stylized characters often preferred in Asian markets. However, as characters in the original Horizon games are based on realistic human proportions, players will not be able to design their characters with extreme cartoon-like features, such as oversized eyes or tiny chins. Their goal is to offer as much variety as possible within realistic features.[3]
Despite Eliza having a name, other players seen in the trailers are instead given generic usernames, including User03, User04, etc.[2]
Based on their outfits seen during gameplay, Eliza appears to be a Tenakth from the Desert Clan. Meanwhile, in the Announcement Video, a wide shot of various appearances that Eliza can have is shown, all wearing various outfits that appear to from the Nora, Carja, Oseram, Utaru and Desert Tenakth tribes. Notably, one appearance shown bares a strong resemblance to Thira.[1]
