ELEUTHIA-1, alternatively formatted as ELEUTHIA-01, is a location mentioned only in a datapoint in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Description[]
ELEUTHIA-1 likely contains all the facilities that ELEUTHIA-9 does for child-rearing and development, including artificial wombs for gestation, nurseries, a preschool area, living quarters for the inhabitants and a Lyceum. However, due to Ted Faro's purge of the APOLLO database, the doors to the Lyceum likely remained closed, as they did in ELEUTHIA-9.

In the Old World[]
ELEUTHIA-1 was one of numerous Cradle facilities worldwide as part of the ELEUTHIA function of Project Zero Dawn, being built near the Xinjiang province in China.
ELEUTHIA-1 was successfully sealed before the Faro Plague advancing across Xinjiang province could detect it, with pingback from crucial systems looking good. For their first Cradle, Patrick Brochard-Klein considered ELEUTHIA-1's development a success. However, he had disputes with the Betas over zygote selection due to the limited time to run simulations of gene flow in future humans, but they agreed there was room for refinement in other Cradle populations.[1]
After being sealed within GAIA Prime, Brochard-Klein continued running runtime checks on the ELEUTHIA cradles with GAIA, including ELEUTHIA-1.[2]
In the New World[]
Whether ELEUTHIA-1 was successful at producing new humans, as well as its current condition in the New World, remains unknown.
Trivia[]
- As the Great Delta is believed to be located in present day East Asia, which would place it close to ELEUTHIA-1, it's possible that the Quen are descended from those born from ELEUTHIA-1.
