Devil's Claw is an unmarked location in Horizon Zero Dawn. Located on All-Mother Mountain, it is the site where the Proving's finish line is located.[1]

Devil's Claw is a section of All-Mother Mountain surrounded by the derelict Horus's tentacles. The Nora have constructed an altar here for participants of the Proving to place their trophies on.

During the Proving, Aloy, Bast, Vala, and all the other participants raced to Devil's Claw, where Aloy was first to put her trophy on the altar. However, as the Proctor announced Aloy's victory, arrows rained from above and killed the Procter and a handful of newly anointed Braves as members of the Eclipse approached. Aloy, Bast, and Vala fought them off before more reinforcements arrived. However, one wielding a Deathbringer Gun overwhelmed Bast and Vala, killing them both. After a fierce fight, Aloy was able to kill the rest of the Eclipse currently present. While inspecting an enemy corpse and the Focus he was wearing, she was grabbed from behind by an unmasked attacker held with a knife to her knife. He could only deal a surface wound to her neck (sending her in and out of consciousness) before Rost appeared and began firing arrows at him. As the two struggled while Aloy watched on in delirium, Rost was fatally stabbed and collapsed. As the Eclipse left, they left some bombs to eliminate the evidence. Rost mustered up the last of his strength to crawl to Aloy and push her off the mountain to safety, saving her from the explosion that ended up killing him.[2]
