North and South Korea announce plans for Provisional Reunification Zone

SEOUL – October 15, 2062 – After more than a century of hostility, North and South Korea are testing the waters of reunification. Today, before an audience of international reporters, South Korean president Baek Ji-un announced plans to reclassify the demilitarized zone that runs the length of both countries' borders as the "Provisional Reunification Zone."

Construction of Sejong City, a proposed jointly-governed residential area within the PRZ, is set to begin next month. Baek's announcement comes just two weeks after the completion of a twenty-five-year project which saw the two Koreas cooperating to restore sites of cultural significance threatened by rising sea levels along the peninsula's southern coast.

Captain Okilo: "There is much to think about."
Selection Counselor: "Yes?"
Captain Okilo: "I was right all along… No way to deactivate the swarm before it destroys us."
Selection Counselor: "It’s true that the immediate future is bleak."
Captain Okilo: "Can you truly remember a time when the immediate future was not bleak? "
Captain Okilo: "All these conflicts between nations, between combines—always the concern was immediate, always they gained nothing."
Captain Okilo: "We fought fiercely though we knew we could never win. There was no victory, only losing a little less."
Captain Okilo: "How foolish it all seems now. That people of all nations are united only when faced with the certainty of death. "
Captain Okilo: "But you tell me there is a way to bring life back. I accept. Indeed, it will be an honor."
Selection Counselor: "It would be ours as well, Captain. Doctor Sobeck would like you to guide the MINERVA sub-function--"

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds[]

Cut Datapoints[]

Avoid the Frozen Wilds![]

The localization files for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition contain a cut datapoint written by Respectful Tashadi that was intended to deter those in the Sundom from venturing to the Cut.[3]

Content[]
A WARNING FROM THE SUN-COURT
On the dangers inherent in travel to the Banuk wilderness.
Citizens of the Sundom,
Since the bonds of peace were renewed with the Banuk, many have sought to hunt for metal and exotic furs in their lands known as the Cut.
These wilds, beyond the ancient ruins in the north-eastern mountains, are now a source of great concern to us. Perhaps you have heard rumors concerning carnivorous machines, unknown killers in the snow, even of a great Daemon that shakes the mountains.
Truly, the Banuk are a superstitious folk, who lack the clarity of the Sun’s light. But it is also true that the wilds of the Cut have become uncommonly dangerous of late, with or without this so-called Daemonic influence.
We ask that you consider your welfare and that of your families. Do not venture to the frozen wilds! Remain within the Sundom’s protection until further notice.

Respectful Tashadi, court envoy
