"Kind of place you'd take someone if you wanted to lose them forever..."
Aloy, approaching the Cloud-Shear

The Cloud-Shear is an unmarked location in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds.

Description[]

The Cloud-Shear is a cliffside located in the west of the Cut. A river flows through the cliff, leading to a waterfall at the cliff's edge.

History[]

The Cloud-Shear was the chosen site for Inatut's exile after he was wrongly accused of murdering Ruwas during the side quest Frontier Justice.

Having found the true murderers, the Nora Aloy raced to the Cloud-Shear to save Inatut, who had been stripped naked as part of the punishment. Finding him freezing and hiding, Aloy lent him Carja clothes and equipment she had gathered from the killers' camp. After fighting off a group of machines, the two briefly parted ways: Aloy went to Song's Edge to prove Inatut's innocence to his werak, while Inatut went another route in order to clear his head.

Mentions[]

Aloy: "And for your punishment, they'll exile you from the werak?"
Inatut: "From warmth. March me up the slopes of the Cloud-Shear, leave me stripped and exposed."
