The Chorus is the governing body of the Utaru tribe.
Role[]
The Chorus act as the leaders of the Utaru, functioning as a loose oligarchy.
All Chorus members wear a woven reed headdress decorated with white and yellow flowers.
Selection[]
The Chorus chooses its own members, although they will listen to the will of the people when choosing new members. Often if they faced any political opposition from non-Chorus members, they'd have no choice but to admit them to avoid legitimizing their radical ideals any further.
Traditionally, a new Chorus member would perform an initiation ritual atop the Promontory, the cliff where the first Utaru saw Plainsong. This practice was abandoned soon after the Derangement began.
