Chain Burst is an unlockable Valor Surge under the Machine Master skill tree in Horizon Forbidden West. The first level is automatically unlocked when Efficient Repair, Mounted Archer, and Mounted Defense are all unlocked. To trigger it, it costs 140, 336, and 560 Valor for each level.

Use

While this is active, a proportion of damage inflicted on enemies is radiated to other enemies within a 15 meter radius. At level 3, enemies hit by the radiated damage will also radiate damage at a reduced amount and radius, which can make it extremely effective against enemies grouped together. Elemental buildup also radiates to nearby targets when Chain Burst is active.

Certain attacks radiate with reduced damage, which applies to Silent Strike, Critical Strike, and Resonator Blast with a 90% reduction while heavy melee attacks have a 50% reduction.
