Many of Boomer's mannerisms, including a lack of social awareness, poor understanding of other's emotions, limited eye contact, and special interest in explosions, point towards her being autistic. Her overall eccentric demeanor and lack of insight are often a source of frustration for her sister Delah.
Despite her quirks, Boomer is rather innocent and childlike in demeanor, never acting out of malice or frustration.
