A Banuk farewell mark consists of secretly urinating[3] either on the belongings of the non-Banuk person,[2] or somewhere they won't find it until it "becomes nice and sour".[3]
It appears that a Banuk farewell mark can be performed as a good natured joke[2] or with malicious intent.[3]
History[]
Ukan's description of the Banuk farewell mark being "old fashioned"[3] indicates that it has been performed by the Banuk for a significant amount of time.
Many members of a Banuk werak promised to leave a Banuk farewell mark for Aram for their time together. While picking up his wetly frozen belongings, he couldn't find the mark he was promised, deciding to leave it as another Banuk mystery.[2]
