Badgers are a species of wildlife in Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds commonly found in wooded areas and around water sources across the Cut. When killed, they drop loot valuable to merchants and needed for several crafting recipes..

The southeastern border of the Cut, between Longnotch and Song's Edge, is especially fertile hunting ground for these creatures.

Unlike the rabid honey badgers of the Old World, badgers found in the Cut are docile and quick to flee. They will not attack or cause any harm to Aloy. Rather, they will run away when Aloy gets close, unless she is undetected. However, they can be tracked easily due to the distinctive zig-zag pattern they leave behind in the snow.

Loot Acquired

When killed, badgers will drop common items such as various types of meat but sometimes they will drop either Badger Skin or Badger Bone, both very valuable items that are useful for trading with merchants.
