August was a mentioned only character in Horizon Forbidden West.
History[]
August was born to Ethan Reed and an unnamed mother.[1]
August and Ethan had a crown flower in their backyard, which was Ethan's favourite plant. August would run outside every morning to check to see if any caterpillars had turned into chrysalises.[2]
When the Faro Plague broke out and attacked Singapore, where August was staying with his mother,[1] where he was killed by the Chariot robots' biomass conversion capabilities.[3]
Legacy[]
When Ethan worked on the design of Regional Control Center 9 for Project Zero Dawn,[4][2][3] he decided to add some additional rooms to the facility in August's honor, including a tucked away hideout that was only accessible through a vent or through a hidden door in the sleeping quarters,[4] and the Vault,[3] as he remembered that August loved hidden passages.[4]
While he initially tried to keep his additions to the design secret,[3] Ethan changed his mind when he remembered August asking for extra in his lunch pack to share with his friends, knowing he would want to share the Vault too. He told the rest of the team and had datapoints left by both himself and them to be found by future humans.[5]
