Why couldn’t they just use an EMP on the Faro swarm? Was this stated that it wouldn’t work? Like it seems like it would be obvious so theres got to be something I forgot about that makes it so they can’t use an EMP, but what is it?

The Faro Swarm was gigantic as they had at least 5 times the amount of Metal Devils we see in both games and they can multilply extremely fast so it wouldn't do much. They sacrificed most of their military aircraft since they wouldn't need it with the Faro robots destroying their enemies easily, so they would've had to use normal planes to drop the EMP, and the Metal Devils would've been able to see the planes and probably alerted the Swarm, which would take the plane out. I think during Operation: Enduring Victory they would've deployed EMPs to wipe out a Minority of the Swarm.
It might not work due to the encrypted polyphasic entangled wavelengths that were used to keep them secure from hackers
Also the trouble of getting anything close to the swarm. The swarm was designed to take over enemy tech and turn it to its side. So anything they used to bring the bombs close might have been over taken
It was used, specially at the start of an engagement. The 9th MRB destroyed at least three Horus Titans. A few tactics are even explored: EMP the grid, dropping buildings and using artillery fire and aerial support. Nukes were used as well. The reason humanity lost is because humans couldn't destroy the swarm fast enough, the machines would eventually leave the earth uninhabitable and making terraforming it back in time a hopeless endeavor.
So EMPs were used, however they were not enough to stop them. We even learn that EMPs are part of a Horus arsenal and they can fire them below themselves and not be affected. Its quite possible the Horus are shielded against EMPs. Modern tanks and a lot of modern military is already equipped against EMPs.
It makes sense that an automated force would be shielded against EMPs, otherwise it would be stupid to even use them when they are extremely weak against a weapon that surely cost much less to manufacture.
What do you think?
