So they revealed HADES deployed successfully on more than one instance during the pre humanity terraforming process. This is important because it helps the theory that in HZD, hades sending the signal was it deploying correctly. However this could also be something new bc GAIA had let HADES reverse terraform before without blowing up, sure, humans may have been why, valuing their lives above plant and animal life, however, it’s make clear that GAIA values all life equally and will live to spite HADES no matter what life it’s killing. So with all this in mind, here is where I stand on this matter. I believe that the mysterious signal that freed HADES was not HADES deployment. However, I believe that it wanted to immediately begin reverse terraforming bc the biosphere is indeed collapsing. (Red blight and all) I think that GAIA had the collapse under control, however, with HADES free, it immediately sensed these issues and wanted to reset. GAIA, now having lost control, nuked herself to protect humanity.

Theory’s aside, the biggest thing that this tells us is that GAIA is a flawed person (I say person cuz she honestly has more humanity than most people do) we know she is coming back for Forbidden West so this sheds light on her character. She is life loving so much that it clouds her vision and judgement.
