The world can't be just Ted Faro who is smart bad guy, and Elisabth Sobeck who is Smart good girl. Even if FAS is a global superpower, it must have some competitors no? Either that the developers didn't really think it through, that the plot is kind of an afterthought - what reasons is there for a world with prehistoric tribes and mech dinosaurs? They need plot reason to invent GAIA, problem is, it's too simplistic to work in any real world scenario. It really begs so many questions:
Was there some other machine capable of fighting the swarm? Why was there only 1 arms manufacturers and 0 contingencies for case his stuff turns out bad? Where are the old weapons? How can they invent robots that fix global warming, and then invent robots that do global warming in 2 years instead of 200 (global warming haven't started last year). Somewhere it's just missing a detail that would make it all make sense. It can be something silly. But you need some mcguffin, or alternatively really thoroughly go and try and fix all the plot holes. If you try and think about it... you will see where I'm getting at. This plot of robots who multiply uncontrollably, can't be destroyed, can use their enemy as fuel... It's too much to be believable. And the only weakness it might have - a "virus" that a rival AI would work for 60 years to solve. I can go on and on. It's just sad that such a game that really evoked the imagination, had such a lackluster explanation. I tried posting about it elsehwere, where they tried explaining to me how I just don't understand... No I do understand, and that's the reason I'm upset, because if you undertstand you realize it doesn't add up, and to me it's obvious that the story was the last thing to really be finallized, and some elements were created to justify gameplay mechanics.
